Kothan waltzed onto the dark sleek ship of Vigo Lando. He never did care for it. It was always too clean, too efficient. The scutters on the ship did their job too well. It simply didn't feel as though it was lived in. No that wasn't it...it was a solid ship, much superior to the derelict ship that Jay Cordon was stuck in. It was provided by the Omnidux herself and luckily for Lando, she actually liked him. Lando's office itself would have felt right in home with the rest of the Black Sun organization, filled with mementos of previous conquerings. Kothan always felt though that Lando never liked it.....mainly because he never gambled or had a drink while he was there.
"So, should I hire by old buddy Han or not?" Lando said matter-of-fact as Kothan waltzed in. "Well?"
"No. They.....traded the data for their lives." Kothan placed the computer chip down on the table. "They were most amenable."
Lando paused for a few moments - Kothan could sense his emotions. He hadn't expected this. But he was...relieved. "We'll take this to the Omnidux herself then." Lando said finally. "Now, more importantly, did you get your lightsaber back?"
He had earned that lightsaber from his Master, Jastus Farr, when he was only 12. The fact that bitch stole it from his body still infuriated him. He had sensed her at the arena, but saw the others there...he had no support. When he saw her later at the Strip Club, she again simply had too much support. Kothan might allow his pride to appear at times...but he did retain some training. "Not yet. But I will get my saber again" He was annoyed at being forced to remember his disgrace. His disgrace to a mere Jedi Padawan was too much.
The Damn Jedi, Kothan thought, had always been too inflexible, unwilling to bend with the times. When they were nearly eliminated, they were forced to change...and yet they were still bound by its past. They still allowed the Senate to exist, they still did not allow any teachings about the dark side, focused more on the what-ifs of the force instead of the here and now. His Master had realized this, tried to show the Jedi Order the error of their ways. In return, all the Jedi Council Members massacred all of his allies and padawans, and ripped apart Jastus Farr's body like a Vasukuian Worm-Dragon. Very few survived.
As he walked down the halls to rest for the first time in over a day, he realized what he hated about ship - It was too much like the ships of the Jedi Order. Somehow, he knew Lando agreed.
Maybe if Kothan spent less time waltzing and more time training, he wouldn't have lost to Sseyax...
