Epilogue: The Prelude

The reports from the Senate Meetings were becoming more and more damaging to the honor of the Galactic Republic.   Preemptive attacks, temporary alliances with non-ideals groups, trades of sometimes dubious measures, all of these actions could be taken only if the people involved with such transactions were covered under a shield of anonymity and darkness.  And now this Shield was being slowly but surely chipped away by politicians concerned with progeny that more than likely meant nothing to the fate of this galaxy.

What the public didn't understand was how difficult it was to even create such an organization.  There were those who wanted to be transparent, in direct contract with the Empire.  These people were, of course, ignorant of the ways of the Galaxy, but that mattered not.  Even Joseph Gunner had to be convinced that such a causes needed to be created.  And while, he had to admit to himself that he had desired to lead the organization himself, being forced to lead the new Academy system he had conceived of was a worthy endeavor.

Political Officials focused on strengthening their base....Jedi Masters trying to salvage the institutions....short-term.  All short-term.  These issues had to be resolved and resolved soon.  The government was still too young to deal with such crises.

So Jedi Councilor Petro was glad when Ayla Bloodleaf approved of his proposal to summon many of the important Jedi Leaders and Military Officials to resolve such a crisis.  For the first time in several months, the Council would be reunited at Coruscant.  And finally Petro would resolve this.  One way or the other.
