Sacrifice: The Last Session

Short Version: The team rushed to the Life Forge to stop the nefarious plans of the terrorist Jack and his partner Maiya.  After defeating the droid patrol ships, cult of Jack members, and the defense systems of the forge itself, the team finally faced Jack and Maiya.  The team defeated the duo, saving the galaxy in the process....but not without the loss of several comrades, including Ki-Tal and Tas-Ar.

Long Version

The team emerged out of hyperspace from the Star Destroyer Executor, being led by Admiral Akbar and Commander Terra Vicious.  Getting a warm-up speech from Terra, the three ships (Blue, Green and Red Leaders) all emerged from the Star Destroyer to encounter thousands of Droid Ships.  Three droid ships, piloted by IG-88B, C and D (seeking revenge for IG-88A, who died at Dagobah) attacked the team, and indeed Ki-Tal/Tas-Ar and Torin/Jay had trouble.  Sseyax though had bought upgrades for her ship, and used them to aid the team in defeating the dreaded droids.

Landing into the Life Forge, the team, along with its army of allies, entered into the series of domes and huge corridors.  The Forge, being double the size of Jupiter, and bigger than the Red Sun it was using for power, was easy to navigate thanks to Torin's Life Forge tracking device.  Torin attempted to hack into the system but it was very difficult to do so.  This was because the system was based on a different operating system - one that use a combination of the force and technology and nannites. The system accused the team of being slaves and thus not having the rights to do much in the system.  Ki-Tal speculated (correctly) that the system was based on a society older than the Galactic Republic itself.

As Torin continued his hackings, the system got frustrated, and created, using a mixture of nannites and the force, a swarm of poisonous drone bees to take out the team.  Torin and Jay teamed together to solve the technical puzzle (riddle) as the team was almost stunk to paralysis.  Ki-Tal and the other jedi use their healing powers to aid the others.  The system then created an electrical corridor to prevent the team from moving, but a combination of hacking, force ice and other abilities got the team through the corridor.  Finally Torin defeated the system, and while unable to be an admin, stopped the system from killing the team.  The team also fought a swarm of Jack Members, defeating them with minor difficulty.

The team finally entered the main chamber of the Life Forge  to see Maiya almost completing the calculations to activate the Life Forge.  The team questioned why Jack and Maiya were doing this, and Jack/Maiya responded that this was only way to truly give the universe the freedom from the cycle of destruction the galaxy was destined to be under the Galactic Republic.  The team, most notably Sseyax, Torin, Ki-Tal and Jay Cordon, obviously disagreed and soon a fight was on.

Two waves of Jacks charged from the sides as Jack himself charged from the center platform, buying Maiya time to create new ships.  The team went through a very difficult fight, sending many of its allies to the right and left sides, while many of the PCs and tougher members charged straight up the middle to take out Jack and Maiya.  On the two sides, the allies and Jacks were evenly matched, but difficult.  Many died for the sake of the galaxy, including: Roon-Pan, rival and potential lover of Tav; Teetran, Master of Ki-Tal and Tas-Ar; and Balbacca, Wookie partner of Bardos. Still, without Torin's blaster support and Ki-Tal's healing, many others would have died (such as Leia Organa, Lando, the Rapier Brothers, and Commodore Page).

Finally, Sseyax, Tas-Ar, Tav and Master Frey defeated the brutality of Jack....only for his spirit to conquer the body of Maiya, destroying her soul in the process.  Jack fought again against the team, this time dealing a near fatal wound the team: he killed Tas-Ar, protecting Ki-Tal, and then slew Ki-Tal, who was damaging the cylinders that help power the computer systems.  In the most unlikely of attacks, Jay landed the final blow on Jack (in Maiya) killing him and possibly his spirit, though as Jack said "Ideas never died".......

The team then  had a debate on what to do with the Life Forge.  Sseyax discovered that a person could be brought back from the dead, if two people permanently lost their connection to the force.  Sseyax, desperate to have Ki-Tal revived, asked Torin to do so, which with reluctance he agreed.  Jedi Master Ayla, Lance Woods, and Atty appeared, and Sseyax try to bully Atty in losing her abilities, but to no effect.  Sseyax threatened to not allow anyone to leave, even pushing Torin aside.  It looked bleak at one point - until the spirit of Ki-Tal appeared to inform everyone that he was at peace and to not fight.  After Torin sneakily created some blue-prints for new ships, the team escaped from the Life Forge and let it explode into a billion pieces.

The team saved the galaxy and surely will be commended as heroes for many generations to come.  But the loss of life was significant...and for at least one Inquisitor, it would not be forgotten...

"It is well that war is so terrible. We should grow too fond of it."
