SV: The team resolved the double cliffhangers fro last time, rescuring Attirova from the spirit of Dissidias and defeating the droid body of Joseph Gunner. The team then had to deal with the politics of the Blue Sabers, resolved favorably with the rescue of Torin's father Lance along with some internal Jedi Politics, which were resolved by aiding Ayla Bloodleaf and Argas Vicious. [Part 2 covers the recap related to how the team dealt with the aftermath and their own personal dealings]
Long Version
The team at the library ran into Maiya, former lover of Castor who had met the team on Hoth. Maiya, having just seemingly killed Joseph Gunner, told the team that she and Castor had for a couple of hundred of years tried to push the galaxy towards a new evolution by aiding village, cities and even planets on a singualr basis. But they could not always see their fruits of labor rewarded, and soon Maiya lost hope that her and Castor's way to aiding the galaxy one person at a time would ever work. So when the two of them crashed into Korriban (to hide from those pursuing them) and she met the enchanting Jack...and more importantly, his theories on the galaxy, she was captivated. And soon, she worked for Jack as his presence...and lover.
Maiya, being a great technician, aided Jack in the establishment of the Droid Replacement Program. IG-88 of the Zann Consortium, she found through information sources, was planning on pulling a coup with programmed droids - re-program IG-88 and his commands, and gain the power of thousands of henchmen droid. In addition, she used feminine wiles on the Viceroy of Aldaraan, convincing him to capture Mr. Shadow, the greatest programmer of the land. She forced Mr. Shadow to help her develop a technique to create Jedi droids. Her first experiment was on Mr. Shadow...which failed but was enough to help her. Maiya and Jack worked together to get Atty to join their plan, and Maiya also recruited Surik, the overseer of the Jedi Droid Laboratory. Having learned of the Star Forge from Atty (and her piece) Maiya and Jack pursued the Star Forge pieces while allowing the Jedi to search for it as well...which is why Atty allowed the team to have the Forge piece. All the while Castor remained ignorant of Maiya's plans, he so used to her submissive ways, for Castor could not begin to imagine what Maiya truly thought or desired...which, as we will see, would end being a bad thing for him.
Maiya taunted the team with this information, and joined by Jack (in a Tuskan Raider body somehow) the two left the scene with a copy of the Life Forge, taken from the Inquisitor Library, and activated a droid version of Joseph Gunner as a small present. The team fought valiantly, and in a rather odd efficiently amount of time, defeated the droid, thanks of a nice bout of strength from Balbacca, along with the aid of Tav, Jay, Bardos, Lando and Zuckess.
At this point though, Jedi Councilor Petro then emerged and demanded the Life Forge to be handed to him. The team, too weakened from its fights, complied and Petro was to then have the team arrested as he left. But, just in the nick of time, [scene missing from recap] and the team hurried to meet with the others.
The Core team arrived at the heart of Coruscant, only to find the forces of Attirova [and Wookie pals] and Joklo the terrorist waiting for them. The team attempted to reason with Atty and Joklo, but Joklo gave a long spirited discussion of how the current regime had failed all of the galaxy and that its leader, in particular Argas Vicious, Vice-President, could never be trusted, how they simply had failed, and that the only way to aid in the galaxy was to wipe them out. All of them. The team obviously disagreed, but wondered why Atty would go along with such a plan; Ki-Tal though, with his force abilities, sensed that there was another controlling Attirova, an evil maleviolent force wraping Atty's force and spirit.
Ki-Tal tried to reason with Atty, urging her to fight the evil spirit within her. At the same time, Torin and Mad Max tried to take pot shots at Joklo, with Sseyax, Tas-Ar and others holding off the Wookie Hoard. Atty then leapt onto the scene, and with the one blow, destroyed the body of Miss Grey. Her lifeless body tossed aside like some a piece of scrap metal,, the team knew it was going to be in a tough fight. Ki-Tal kept doing his best, but Atty then took down Tas-Ar - only Commodore Page's medical aid saved him. The Wookies were then defeated, leading the team to gang up on the proud Wookie Leader; finally, Ki-Tal broke through and Atty emerged from her cacoon - the heroic Wookie was back.
But the spirit that dwelled within emerged as its own entity, callings itself Dissidias. A former Sith Lord from the Clone Wars, her mental abilities were nearly unchallenged - but Ki-Tal was able to hold her off as Sseyax, Frey and Atty killed the spirit once and for all. At the same time, Mad Max sacrified his life to push Joklo into the bottomless pit, allowing Torin and his R2 unit the time needed to shut down the destruction sequence. Coruscant was saved.
The team healed itself, licked its wounds and began to hurry back to the surface. But before they could get really going, Master Castor, who, along with Councilor Hajak and Master Teetran, had teamed again to contain the various explosions caused by Joklo, coughed and fell to the ground. Ki-Tal examined him, and determined that he had been poisoned by a virus that fed onto the very life energy of the jedi, the force. It was too late for the team to save Castor, and he soon passed on. Teetran and Hajak stayed behind to heal Tas-Ar and some others, as well as to give Castor the burial he had so earned.
As the team advanced forward, Torin warned the team that Talia, Esqfire and Vulgh were coming down, likely to try and have Torin finish off Watkins, who had accompanied the team and helped in defeating Joklo. Sseyax and Ki-Tal ensured Torin they would support him. Soon enough, the team was ambushed by the leaders of the Blue Sabers, who marched onto the team's platform with over two dozen men. Torin told the leaders that Watkins had formally surrender his leadership (he had done so at Torin's request) and that he would resolve the potential traitor issue after the fight was over on Coruscant. Talia though presented key evidence that showed that Watkins was responsible for Lance's carbonification and eventual death - something Torin, using his advance computer skills, could tell was not 100% true. In addition, Sseyax detected that Talia was occasionally lying. Talia would not bulge on her position on wanting Torin to kill Watkins, and eventually Torin called her out on this issue. Giving a charismatic speech [with Ki-Tal's jedi aid and Sseyax intimation], Torin rallied the Blue Sabers to his cause, with Esqfire and Vulgh (still promised his system-wide casino) aiding Torin. Talia was apprehended, along with her servant and former Torin lover Hanna [who lost her hand in an assassination attempt on Watkins by Frey]....soon Torin used the information to rescue his father Lance, and eventually they had a happy family reunion.
The team then emerged from the core only to see Ayla, Argas Vicious, Gobo, Roon-Paan, Nagatha and Commander Terra Vicious being pinned down by a Zann Consortium Mech; Torin and Sseyax teamed together to take down the mech, while the rest of the team worked with Blue Saber Commander Red Short Ron Jr to defend Ayla and the others. Ki-Tal used his medical abilities to save Vicious. The other team from the library then met up - the teams were finally reunited again.
Tav told Ayla the situation with Petro, and soon the team headed towards the Jedi Palace, where they stopped Petro from declaring himself the new President of the nation (in a rather easy fashion, one might add). Soon, the battle of Coruscant was over. While the Cult of Jack and Maiya had their Life Forge map, so did the team, and Coruscant was largely saved.
[Part 2 will have the resolution of Coruscant, focusing on the more personal stories of these sessions]
